@semele@mastodon.social ...ok, the paradox is in what constitutes a straight line! Birds have long known the earth is a sphere; gravity and rotation of mother earth and wind all conspire to be curved. The average Bewick's swan flying from Serbia to Slimbridge knew instinctively all the maths of vectors and curves long before Newton and Einstein :)
