@bloognoo@retro.pizza @alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com @ercanbrack@mastodon.online @amadeus@mstdn.social IMO linux is still short of fully pro level mixing and mastering plugins suitable for recorded real audio. If you only use synths and especially if they are plugin synths, this is much less of a concern. I use fabfilter Pro-Q, DMG limitless, threebodytech cenozoix comp and kirchoff eq. I haven't been able to match that level of quality on linux yet. This is almost insignificant compared to the driver issue though.

@xenogon@sunny.garden @bloognoo@retro.pizza @alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com @ercanbrack@mastodon.online @amadeus@mstdn.social Might have been 3 years ago. I personally moved my studio over to Linux almost 2 years ago now, and have more and more requests from pro studios and producers to move them over. Plenty of plugin options (natively and with wrappers), Pipewire being superior for audio routing (even over CoreAudio) and drivers sometimes outclassing the win/Mac options (RME is plug and play, while the driver install on Mac is still a multi part process....)
