@MyWildlifeAllotment@mastodon.online I love the idea of a bee Hotel but apparently they are really good for parasite spreading as well. Best to watch out for your little hotel 😊

@mr_harm@mastodon.social As long as the bee hotels are small and spread few and far between they are normally ok. I have one at home for nearly 20 years now, at the house wall. This has been completely self-sustaining and I had no major parasite issues. Same with one I bought for my mom which is the same one as in the picture, has been fine so far. But I know what you mean, especially Osmia bicornis can be heavily infested with parasites.
