#SaudiArabia will host the 2034 #FIFA #WorldCup and this will be the first 48-team tournament held in a single country. They have the financial resources and infrastructure to host a technically successful World Cup, but the human cost and ethical compromises are too great. Awarding the tournament to Saudi Arabia prioritizes money and politics over people, and it sets a dangerous precedent for future events.
But if we could change the host, who could be candidates? 🧵

My choice would be a #Scandinavian #WorldCup primarily because it addresses many of the ethical, logistical, and cultural concerns that have plagued recent tournaments. Let’s break down why this would have been a far superior choice compared to #SaudiArabia, and how it aligns with the values of fairness, sustainability, and inclusivity. 2)
