@alda@topspicy.social I grew up in Germany but now live in Canada. I was unfortunate enough to be back home during the heatwave for a visit. The non-AC culture is bizarre. If you want to safe energy great, just don't turn it down to freezing levels like they do in North America. But during a 40+ heatwave, it's really not about comfort but safety for a lot of people. (I wonder what will happen when they figure out that an AC is a heatpump.)
