Outdoor cats face a lot of issues that indoor cats don't usually face, such as parasites, diseases, predators, and cars, so indoor cats are often healthier than outdoor cats and can live longer. However, there is a tradeoff for that. Without access to the outdoors, indoor cats don't get as much exercise and activity as outdoor cats do, so often become unhealthily overweight or get incredibly bored. So it's important to play with indoor cats a lot and give them all sorts of things to entertain themselves with to keep them moving and stave off boredom.
