@bragefuglseth@sunny.garden Supporting multiple backends can be slow (PackageKit can be part of that problem in some cases; depends what package servers you’re querying and how fast they return results, etc.). For the more visual artifacts (multiple refreshes, changing state seemingly randomly) it’s because the original gnome-software architecture didn’t have very fine-grained updates for things — it took a “refresh everything all at once” approach. It’s taking us a while to move away from that. 1/
