The essay is named "To Be Honest" and included in the book "Grasshopper Dreaming" (2002). They're his reflections on the quest for efficient cheap killing & the silence that follows. I sometimes reread it trying to understand how we internalize this stuff. Can't say I'm close. 1/2 #book #biodiversity #usa
