So Victoria has 38 up and running Data Centres. 30 more at planning/development stage. ●Who owns these ? ●Who is giving permissions to build ? ●Where is the consultation process in "inner and middle suburbs" ? ●Why is this land not being used for housing ? ●When we run out of water to cool them, what will Yarra Water charge us to drink ? ●When we have used so much land for these sprawling Data Centres in just the first couple of years of AI, how much of Australia will be covered by Data Centres by 2030 ? 2040 ? 2050 ? ●In a country that seeks to conserve its extraordinary coastline, forests, wildlife, flora, why are we turning a blind eye to the noise pollution and destruction these Data Centres are causing ? ●Why are we giving away our sovereign data to international owners ? https://renewmap.com.au/resources/projects/vic/datacentre/
