Every time I see those posts by European soccer fans gushing about Waffle House I'm like, "bitch you don't have to LIVE here".
But then I think, maybe this isn't so much the unwashed Old World masses fawning over superior US wealth and culture, but Marco Polo writing of the wonders of the Great Khan in Xanadu; a kind of occidentalist exoticism.

Pretty sure the Europeans don't actually want to live in sprawl, drive F150s, shop at Wal-Mart, and eat Cracker Barrel. It is natural to marvel at sumptuous, exotic, foreign culture. But 99.9% of these folks would never actually choose to live in suburban Wichita. That USians can't see this is, frankly, funny.
