2/ Upon leaving and heading back to our car, discovered the city hall parkade was locked - well within posted operating hours, again with no signage indicating they are locked or how else to access the parkade. Went back up to main level, found security guard who said it's "locked for visitor safety". Instead we had to go INSIDE city hall (which I thought was kept locked down due to past security incidents).
#yegdt is NOT welcoming, and I used to love downtown. 😞

@WanderingHuman@cosocial.ca The parkade entrance not hours for that particular entrance & indication of which other entrances to use is inexcusable. The Pedway signage issue is a more difficult problem since, as @satchmo35@mas.to noted, different groups are responsible for the signage vs the actual building access. And I suspect that's probably a wider issue. The city has invested a lot in these new pedestrian way-finding signs (including outside downtown & other touristy districts, which was a pleasant surprise), but are there any processes in place, communicating between city departments, to keep signs up to date when access changes, whether for construction, events, or security reasons?
