@Siiin@pagan.plus similar thoughts lol. Glancing through the data sheets for some of think inks I use, its basically pigment + alcohol + water. Solid also throws a little bit of witch hazel in there, and a couple of the brands have glycogen. If anything, they seem pretty barebones. Doing some light re-reading, some pigments found in tat inks are also found in regular paints. From a very, very light amount of digging and some diy testing, all that's needed is just a medium, if that. On pigment size--

    @Siiin@pagan.plus --no idea! With paints I've only ever paid attention to pigment load, opacity, and the ASTM rating [and ig if the pigment is like, cadmium or lead lol]. My gut says that the fine-ness of the pigment particle isnt *as* important as it in in tattoo inks, and if anything tat inks might be way more fussy over that than regular paints in that regard. But that's going off of gut instinct, YMMV etc etc
