@piegames@flausch.social You know. this gives us a bit of an opportunity to talk about one of our favourite videogames of late. Warframe. Trying to get to the point, there is this sentient spore hivemind that nobody really understands how truly works, and it connects itself across time and space. There's this part where a branch of the infestation enters in contact with this glam rock band guy who has just lost everything, and is born out of them bleeding onto their guitar, that was already infested. There's this MARVELOUS set of exchanges where it's revealed that the guitar knows what you have been doing in the future and will very viciously try to keep you from flirting with this character, and how it's entire plan is to help them shine amongst the stars, to never be lonely, to be loved as part of a cosmic, ever-reaching whole... They are still going to be losing their mind in the future to a different strand of the infestation (which is NEVER truly explained) so it's also some kind of preserving this person and their consciousness across time and space. The infestation makes it clear that they would be still _mostly_ themselves but they would basically share a consciousness with the whole network. And, we're not doing this subplot any justice but every time we interact with those two our thoughts just keep screaming into the screen WHY CAN'T IT BE US! The writing team did not really intend it to get as close to home with plurality as it does but. damn.
