Because their beliefs are de-facto forbidden in most social settings online is the only place they can express themselves. And even there they all know the fear of being banned whether or not they're on a platform that would. This leads to their default stance being defensive, desperate to find like-minded persons so they don't feel insane, and desperate to push away outsiders lest they engage in endless pointless slapfights.
