@fivetonsflax@tilde.zone Yah I was gonna say! I was 51 y.o when I started my ADHD meds. They did the complete opposite of ruining my life. Would not have gotten this far without coping mechanisms. But my tip would be to avoid doing ritalin as a "starter med" if you can, and try aduvanz first (or meds with similar active ingredient) - ritalin is a bit more "up and down" and can be a bit less optimal to start on for us adults. "High functioning" comes at such a cost. I felt like I was hitting a wall, and had no other options than to try to get a diagnosis to see if meds would help... As you saw, getting a diagnosis is so dang hard in this age, I could forget about public sector, and paid 6.000 euro for all the private psycologist / psyciatrists that was needed, and somehow that feels like the best investment I have ever done... But dang that is a privilege that is f...ing unfair to those that cannot. @tbortels@infosec.exchange @digitalcortex@mastodon.social
