Youth #unemployment in particular is rising significantly in the UK. Now at 16.1%, higher than EU average for the first time.
Alan Milburn: this poses an “existential” risk for the UK and could put “a generation on the scrapheap”.
“This is not a short-term phenomenon, it’s a long-term one,” he told the BBC. “We’re seeing something dramatic changing in the labour markets.”

#FollowTheMoney 🧵95/n It seems to me like #PrivateEquity is nothing but an additional “creaming off”, rentier layer and therefore structurally completely inefficient. Feels like there are more and more signs of this - eg this aside in a piece on supermarkets i just happened to read. I wonder whether we have reached peak private equity - maybe it will all collapse soon.
