@splitbrain@fedi.splitbrain.org I think guessing is fine, IF it's obviously guessing, and not sounding authoritative then you can easily ignore the guesses if you want an actual answer but..a lot of the time there can't be an exact answer without a bit of messing around ANYWAY while you wait, you can try, or consider, the guesses also, better a guess than no clue whatsoever, even if it's wrong, it's good to know "well it's not that!" that said, even a guess, should probably have a glance that other people haven't already suggested it, re-suggesting the same thing is just a waste of time and energy
