Advice needs to be specific and you need to do some diagnostic questioning before you launch into it. Otherwise it's just spewing I'M IMPORTANT I KNOW THINGS in the face of someone having a particular crisis.

In particular there's this didactic "I know the secret rules" version of talking about difficult social issues on leftist social media that I find misleading in really specific slippery ways. I notice this often in the assertive advice people feel compelled to give when you have a specific crisis
