Two very different things. AI porn doesn’t need to exploit real people and is, as you say, a boon to those with impractical fetishes. AI “relationships” are basically a mental health crisis.

Lol your getting hate, I say mentally ill Lemmy users decide it’s okay to be hostile to you because you’re talking about ai. I’m skeptical that people like the ai porn because it’s off and there’s multiple perspectives in the same photo, also ai porn have a consistent art style element that persists. The human brain craves novelty and I think that ai porn will bore people in the long run. I don’t know much about relationships with ai. I could see like an ai friend group popping up for a singular person, people will still crave novelty of other human beings and all their flaws. I’d assume they want people with flaws so that they can explore and understand those flaws
