The Luddites were not the first to refuse technology - the ancient Greeks and medieval Christians did so much before. Thomas Dekeyser's awesome book "Techno-Negative" uses that history to make the violence in liberal humanism explicit. This also applies to how we deal with "AI".
Technology is not progress and it was never linear. An extremely thought-provoking book that got me pondering humanism (in e.g. Hannah Arendt and Langdon Winner).
