I have both (SD en S2) and I love the little devices. In my situation is handheld the only realistic way to play at all.
But if a game is available on Steam and on Nintendo I always pick the one for the Steam Deck: most of the time way cheaper (some crazy cheap if you wait a little) and certainly not worst performance.

@nxadm@infosec.exchange me too, in fact multiple of 1st :) I rarely do handheld at home. IIRC I did it mostly when I was replaying BoTW for the gazillionth time I’m not big on the PC stuff, but I’ve decided to have a new build after a decade old one, recently. Still undecided on a GPU on that, yet, but it will happen eventually. I also have a PS5 though. So the visuals can be the deciding factor for that, but PC is currently at the bottom. I prefer consoles as I am also collecting physical media.
