I always used Xfce or cobbled together some *box setup because I had underspec'd hardware. Recently, I tried Fedora with Gnome on an old Ideapad and was seriously impressed with the performance. I last used Gnome maybe 15 years ago and it would grind my machine to a halt. Also, the whole Gnome environment feels very polished. (I've been a Mac user for ~20 years.) #Linux #FOSS
