I think for some years now we've been seeing expectations emerge out of these purely online "communities" that wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of taking hold if IRL was still the primary mode of interaction.
Just using eyebrows can reset the frame of mind in a conversation. And just imagining walking into the room with a DVD full of LLM-generated code and "you have to review this, although I don't have the time" and how the eyebrows will respond (to be followed by vocalizations and maybe a visit from the security guard!) also has a way of keeping techbro expectations in check.
(And, this goes way beyond just software... all of social media suffers from this IRL decoupling effect.)
