@FritzAdalis@infosec.exchange @ajroach42@retro.social @kevin@mastodon.km6g.us jellyfin is actually a fork of Emby! ive been using it for years now - started just for myself but now family and friends use the instance as well, and quite heavily at that - and it's been rock solid, no complaints here. i even have Jellyseerr set up and connected to Sonarr & Radarr, allowing end users to search for and request new movies, series, etc. once i approve the request, it gets automatically sent to Transmission for downloading, and then Jellyfin pulls it in, pulls in metadata, and voila!

  • @fwfy@fedi.pregnant.horse @kevin@mastodon.km6g.us @ajroach42@retro.social I was actually aware of Jellyfin's heritage! Just trying to be a smartass I guess. It's a shame Emby closed their source. I did try jf a couple of years ago, but couldn't get the 'play to via dlna' stuff working. Emby hasn't done anything to make me mad since then, so I haven't tried since.
