In some ways we as a society are lucky that the #MN15 are who they are (not so lucky for them, I suppose), because this will help them to be heard and be the inspiration for the next generation. And there couldn't be a better inspiration. I have had the honor of knowing some of the defendants quite well, for a long time. We've gotten into it, we don't always agree on everything, which is as it should be. But I've always respected the hell out of them. It's easy to talk shit on a podcast. It's not even that hard to get famous doing it! But while my friends haven't had a high media profile, they've been on the front lines against fascism and injustice for many years. They are smart, uncompromising, and principled. But they are also some of the kindest and gentlest people I've ever met. However, this doesn't make them "soft." They do what they do, at a high personal cost even before this indictment, because they care about people. They care about our world. And that makes them more "hard" than any dirtbag leftist—or any fascist—could ever hope to be. #antifa #antifascism #minneapolis
