I simply refuse to drink bottled water anywhere there is safe water out of taps. To do it during a heat wave like Europe is experiencing is just an exercise in cognitive dissonance. The amount of carbon that goes into bottling and shipping that water is beyond the pale and people are dying from heat. I know. It's easy not to make the connections. We like to talk about flying, driving, but things like eating excess amounts of meat and buying clothes you don't need are also large CO2 contributors. We've normalized fast fashion and don't talk about it's CO2 enough either. Drink out of taps. Don't buy new clothes unless you have to. Guillotine the ruling class.

@chu@climatejustice.social I use a gravity filter for tap water which I find nicer. Removes potential nasties (yes, we do occasionally find out after the event that something was wrong with the water supply), gets rid of the chlorine, and it's not as cold (I prefer drinking it tepid).

@chu@climatejustice.social When I was a kid, bottled water wasn’t a thing except for sparkling water. Everyone would just find it weird to order bottled water. Makes no sense, tap water here is great. Then the marketing of water companies changed all of this.
