im in a giant chinese chat server filled with trans people, and none of them are homeless. they are shocked when i tell them about how many homeless trans people are in my other american chat server.

Not being forced to be homeless is a good thing, but in china that is only because the government chose to provide for everyone. Being unrecognized, and merely tolerated without legal protections means that leaders can decide that being queer is illegal now because they “are just perverts corrupting our youth” Watching whats happening in the us right now is a great example of why it’s important. Having legal protections means that in order to harm the community, leaders have to strip away those protections, and face a fight every step of the way.
