#WritersCoffeeClub June 10: What is the greatest pleasure of your writerly life?
Every so often when I re-read some of my prior work (i.e., to check what I said before and make sure later stuff doesn't contradict it), I find that the prior stuff works really well, or sounds good, or achieves the effect I was aiming at. And that feels really good.

#WritersCoffeeClub June 11: How arbitrary are the names in your work? On a scale where 1 is "I had a random number generator create them for me" and 10 is "it's a non-fiction work (history, memoir, news reporting, whatever) so I had no choice at all in the matter", mine are around 5-ish. I select them partly based on the actual frequency of names in the characters' birth years, and... 1/2
