I do think people have a moral obligation to support their kids. Legally...? That's a separate matter. I take less issue with civil enforcement than criminal. I think contempt for violating a support order for failure to find work should have been found to be barred under the 13am. The state shouldn't be able to compel labor until after a crime is committed, e.g. it can't form the basis of the charge itself. Otherwise, the state can do exactly what it does in these cases "X is important, therefore protections of Y don't apply." It's absolute pilpul horseshit.
