🚨 This is clearly pro-Big Techs. This is NOT the good direction for EU competitiveness and fair competition in tech. Don't let the US big techs dictate EU regulation! @vonderleyen @EUCommission https://www.theverge.com/news/823750/european-union-ai-act-gdpr-changes

@gael@mastodon.social @vonderleyen@respublicae.eu @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu This is madness.. The US financial industry can undercut and underprice all European competitors out of business. Their financial sector would wipe the floor with ours. The only chance we have at a sovereign AI industry is one that RESPECTS copyright and privacy. The US solution wipes the floor with it and ushers in a police state with cute corporate logos and waifus on top.

@gael@mastodon.social @vonderleyen@respublicae.eu @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu china has way stricter legislation in that sector (algorithmic disclosure, ethics boards) and is apparently successful with a pragmatic use of the technology

@gael@mastodon.social @vonderleyen@respublicae.eu @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu it's being sold to us as "we are getting rid of those annoying cookie banners", though. Which may be technically correct, but not the whole story ...
