He also didn't unify Italy he was a Florentine diplomat and military reformer. It also has nothing to do with Liberalism since Liberalism was conceived by John Locke's watered down humanist-Christianity and Adam Smith's conflation of a nation's well-being with its economic output. Since then we've gotten an ever greater obsession with money and an ever more abstract definition of humanity - that is Liberalism in a nutshell. Machiavelli has nothing to do with it, he inspired fascism. Man I hate Internet retards.
