Colombia is electing a President today through a direct popular vote in a free and fair election. As no one received over 50% in the first round, the top two candidates went on a second round in today’s runoff. It is time to abolish the slavery-era Electoral College and move to a national popular vote with a runoff. If we had ranked choice voting we could do it on one Election Day.
