We had 3 goals:
🔸Build capacity & enthusiasm for open review
🔸Provide opportunities to actively participate in peer review
🔸Help decolonize the academic publishing process by creating equitable opportunities for African researchers to learn together, lead and teach others

We co-created & openly shared tools & strategies for scholarly literature evaluation, and trained the first cohort of 11 African researchers. 5 have brought the workshop to their own research communities, bringing the total of African-based researchers trained so far to ~100.
