How come, all within the same week, many websites now have a popup to "sign in with Google"?
Was this something the website owners put in or did google bugger one of the javascript libraries that it publishes?

@karlauerbach@sfba.social My guess is the former, plus marketing. Running a namespace, efficiently and securely, is hard, and you have to worry about things like lost password recovery. Better to outsource it to Google, who can do it much more cheaply. Sure, they profit, too, but what do you care if you're spared the expense?
