Except it stops being funny. His talking points (“renewables drive up prices”, “Poland has its own resources”, “the EU imposes this on us”) are the same ones used in Russia’s disinformation playbook, shared to keep Europe dependent on fossil fuels and gas for as long as possible. Poland, the same country that spent years and real money building the Baltic Pipe precisely to stop being at Moscow’s mercy, now has a future PM hopeful whose campaign on energy policy sounds more like it came from the Kremlin. All this from a party whose chairman foams at the mouth about Russia, given he spent years and taxpayer millions insisting his twin brother was assassinated by Russia on a state visit. His hatred is real but this energy policy is less defensible. Poland could be sovereign. It has the wind. It has the coast. Poland has panels too, apparently, on this guy’s roof. Instead, it has this. I usually think Romania’s politics are dumb, but right now dumb is everywhere.
