@jbjrkng@hachyderm.io Sitting here in #USA I can’t claim to know or understand #UKpol or #UK #elections very well. (But John Oliver gave a crash course of the insanity last night. #HBO soon to be another Bond-villain Ellison property 😠. ) I am a fan of the film “V for Vendetta”, and it seems, from my American long distance view, that the UK is inching toward the cartoonishly evil fascist regime from V (but in real-life dreadfully serious).

@steve_zeke@freeradical.zone @jbjrkng@hachyderm.io Unlike Trump, who is a malignant, petty and narcissistic tyrant who delights in cruelty, Starmer is simply a spineless moral vacuum who bows to pressure from every industry lobby and lacks any leadership qualities or vision. While ultimately the results are the same - Trump is as much a puppet of powerful interests as Starmer - it will take a Labour loss and Reform government for us to really start galloping towards all-out fascism. Thanks to Starmer, that's looking likely.
