But it’s not “kill someone.” “86 the ham” can mean “toss it in the garbage, it’s rotten.” Or it can mean “Don’t take any orders for ham because we’re all out.” Or if you just want toast but it’s past breakfast you could order “a ham sandwich on wheat toast, 86 the ham.”
