It only became opt-in when people found out. source? this is an open-source respository and everything i’ve found contradicts that the privacy policy thing was a different thing that was definitely a strike in my eyes, but keep in mind that they reverted that too pretty soon after controversy, claimed it was overzealous lawyering, and it’s been four years since without any further incidents.
