"taking the piss out of middle aged people in Lycra" suggests taking the piss out of other people, not yourself.
Regardless, age and appearance are a crappy basis for taking the piss out of anyone. It's unimaginative, unoriginal, and unfunny. There are much better ways to do it. See, for example, Bike Snob NYC.

This has nothing to do with ones appearance, and everything to do with their sartorial choices and attitude about it. Age also has nothing to do with it, it's just more likely that people in the middle age have the disposable income to sink into $300 bibs and $10,000 carbon road bikes. Hope that helps
