Right here's the spudger (no alt text 'cause describing within post). I buy these in like packs of 20 haha. They're for opening up plastic cases of electronics but they're also cheap tools for teaching babies and toddlers to read. Long skinny black flattish plastic doofer with a point on one end (knock the sharpness down a bit with sandpaper) and a flat on the other.
Pointing to individual letters in a way that your blunt-ass fingertip cannot! Pointing to small letter groups! Concealing, revealing or underlining adjacent or upcoming lines of text!
Tickling soles of feet not illustrated and you jolly well know why

@ifixcoinops@retro.social I used to get them free at work, so I can't ever change my mind to thinking spudgers are a "thing you buy" and instead of just buying some I nurse the stash I have left and break a new one out every year or so. Nothing beats that fresh nylon probe tool feeling.
