Technically I’ve overstated it a bit, the more correct framing is that a major contributor of Trump’s economic policy, Stephen Miran, also wrote a paper called “a user’s guide to restructuring the global trading system” which advocates and provides guidance for removing the dollar as the primary reserve currency of the world. But that seems like a distinction without a difference to me. I don’t think that that necessarily means we’ll see the ruble in it’s place though.
