The car was unlocked, which means people will automatically decide it's "my fault" rather than suggesting that people, perhaps, should not take things from other people's cars anyway.
The car is unlocked because it's too difficult to manage my AuDHD son's safety AND lock the car reliably.
So there's a reason I don't keep anything in there worth anything. It's just unfortunate that the poles had been used recently.

It could have been worse, but it's just another cost... ... and perhaps the worst thing is the administrative burden at a time when multiple things have suddenly happened, all at once--and they all demand responses faster than I can process them. Which sucks, because I'm dealing with a volume and complexity of simultaneous demands that would challenge MOST people... but I have AuDHD... ...which somehow means that each individual system and demand thinks they have given me one tiny thing and I'm being unreasonable about being unable to cope with it... instead of actually listening to what I'm saying when I say I need some support.
