My guess (from personal experience): soda from a dispenser mixes the carbonated water with the syrup when it’s being dispensed. Unlike Coke, Fanta, and other unnaturally colored drinks, Sprite is clear. If the syrup runs out mid-dispensing, you won’t know it until you sit down and drink it. And it is one of the most wretched tasting abominations you’ll ever encounter in this god-forsaken world. It’s the stuff of nightmares.

I was going to say, there’s not much better than cranking that giant A/C when I arrive and coming back later to a walk-in fridge to sleep in.
