My dad has his faults - he was like 400lbs and low key gave me an eating disorder. To this day i still don't have the "full" feeling because he would let me eat entire pizzas when I was like 8. Eating was how we bonded, but as far as things go - could have been worse.
But, truly, I'm sorry your son is as intelligent as a lamp post lol

I still have hope. It's true a lot of autism is a social/communication disorder, & it's breaking that barrier where learning CAN happen. He's only 6, but why I wondered about full accumulation, or peaking, of IQ.

My dad was a hot mess of a human emotionally, & in many ways, but he was intelligent & a great dad to, well, only me (sadly), too. It does matter, IMO.
