Just saw news that Epic Games has release "lore", a version-control tool for large projects like games (with their associated assets)
https://github.com/EpicGames/lore
My first concern was licensing which turns out to be BSD-licensed. That's good.
My second concern is how open they are to outside contributors. Based on the CONTRIBUTIONG.md file, this feels like "you can view it, you can fork it and do your own thing, but all project contributions get vetted through internal maintainers, not a community outside Epic"
It sounds interesting, but I suspect that without an outside community, it won't gain traction anywhere outside Epic. 🤷
