Last year I grew two turmeric plants. I tried to overwinter one, which is sometimes successful, but it died back completely in the dry indoor air. Out of spoons, I just ignored the pot in my living room. It hadn't been watered since December. I was planning to dump the spent soil and no-doubt decomposed remnants of rhizome. Last Monday I walked past the pot and was stunned to see a sprout. So I watered it, heavily and repeatedly. Today it's 16" tall. #IndoorGardening #TropicalPlants #Gardening
