Somewhat related: For the last 20 years I've been boring everyone around me to tears by explaining that the people "forecasting" the renewable energy transition were blatantly ignoring that it is a logarithmic curve - they would draw what was at first _likely_ the start of a log curve, in later years what was _clearly_ a log curve, then draw a flat line from there off to the right as the "future projection". This has continued for two decades, in multiple fields - this article shows the malfeasance for PV adoption, it's the same across the board. https://pv-magazine-usa.com/2020/07/12/has-the-international-energy-agency-finally-improved-at-forecasting-solar-growth/ If I was so consistently wrong about something that _is my job_, I would be unemployed and unemployable. These yahoos have been telling the legacy energy community and all our policy makers what the oil companies want to believe for decades, with the results we all are seeing. Next is electric cars - internal combustion car sales have peaked already. Not in 2026, not in 2025 - in 2017! https://www.icis.com/chemicals-and-the-economy/2024/09/gasoline-diesel-auto-sales-have-moved-into-long-term-decline/ Of course, major auto makers with an incalculable stranded asset of ICE vehicle R&D and manufacture just don't want to hear it or know, so they abandon EV development pretending they'll sell more gas cars next year, just have to come up with the right fender shape or grille design. Meanwhile most everybody who has ever bought an EV can't think of a situation that would make them buy an ICE car again. I wonder how much of the anti-EV trolling is funded by Big Oil and Russia?
