Motivated by the success of their earlier motion picture "Master of the World", AIP had planned to make another film based on a Jules Verne story, "In the Year 2889". But they ended up shelving the project. AIP re-used the title for this *totally unrelated* movie because they had already registered it. #Monsterdon #InTheYear2889
