tangent: what would the unit of measure for dysphoria be called?
tempting to name it, like other metrics, after pioneers in the field, but that seems kind of mean, because we're inevitably talking about trans people, and what tran would want to become the measure of our trauma?
one alternative, i suppose, is going kind of cutesy: fourteen icks of dysphoria. but that way leads to minimization. even one million icks seems like a speedbump, not a threat to life (which it is)

anyway, we only realize how much dysphoria weve got when we start addressing, resolving, and clearing that dysphoria. imagine someone has strapped a heavy backpack onto your back and you've been trudging along under its weight. you know it's heavy, but you don't know how big it really is. you can only see how big the backpack is by putting it down. it's sort of like that. except… #DysphoriaFuckedMeUp
