Also, yes, I know that you can kind of do something similar with caffeine / caffeinate, (https://linuxvox.com/blog/caffeinate-linux/) but that wasn't working reliably in the latest version of PopOS / Cosmic, so I resorted to using hardware, which has been 100% effective.
